After WW I prague became the capital of the first republic of czechoslovakia. in 1939 nazi Germany invaded prague and set up the german protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
During this period prague’s large jewish population fled the city or were sent to concentration camps. In 1945 the soviet army entered the city and prague was under soviet control
until 1989. Since the fall of the soviet union Prague has prospered and most of the city’s historic buildings and churches have been restored.
Today prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. for those interested in Art, history, classical music, and architecture Prague is a must see site in central Europe.
